North moves to final
BLOOMINGTON — No. 12-ranked Columbus North advanced to today’s Bloomington South Regional final with a 4-1 win against Seymour.
The Bull Dogs (18-4) did not lose a game at any of the three singles positions. Kathryn Wilson beat Brooke Schaffstall at No. 1 singles, Aya Saad downed Elise Hartung at No. 2 singles and Annabelle Sun blanked Claire Combs at No. 3 singles, all by 6-0, 6-0 scores.
North’s Siri Poludasu and Nino Akhalaya topped Ava Sunbury and Addison Hunsley 6-3, 6-4 at No. 2 doubles. Lucy Bergman and Grace Conner fell to Jessica Houghland and Caroline Thompson 7-6 (4), 6-7 (4), (10-5) at No. 1 doubles.
SOFTBALL
Jets blank Pacers
BROWNSTOWN — Paige McDaniel threw a three-hitter with 10 strikeouts to lead Hauser to a 7-0 win against Switzerland County in the first round of the Brownstown Central Sectional.
Hannah Taylor went 3 for 4 with a double for the Jets (21-7). McDaniel went 2 for 3 with a double, Kylie Mack went 2 for 3, Kyra Meister went 2 for 4 with a double, Izzy Brunner went 2 for 4 and Maley Jordan had a double and two RBIs.
Lancers blank Cougars
EDINBURGH — MacKenzie Bieker threw a five-inning no-hitter with 12 strikeouts to lead Edinburgh to a 16-0 win against Greenwood Christian Academy in the first round of the Edinburgh Sectional.
Bieker also went 2 for 3 with a home run and four RBIs for the Lancers (13-12). Kenna Streeval went 3 for 4 with a triple, Gracie Barrett went 3 for 4, Gracie Crawhorn went 2 for 3 with a double and three RBIs, Eloise Cox went 2 for 3 and Alix Streeval went 2 for 4.
Trinity tops Hornets
RISING SUN — Grace Lance threw a five-hitter, and trinity Lutheran beat Henryville 7-3 in the opening round of the Rising Sun Sectional.
Bailey Tabeling went 3 for 3 with a triple for the Cougars (14-10). Addison Keaton went 2 for 3 with two RBIs, and Lance went 2 for 4 with a double.

North downs Pirates
GREENSBURG — Tyler Wilks won medalist honors with a 36 to lead No. 16 Columbus North to a 151-156 win against Greensburg at Greensburg Country Club.
Willy Davis and Brady Schneider each shot 38 for the Bull Dogs. Jack Schiavello added a 39, and John Merritt had a 43.
Jets fall to Braves
Hauser came away with a 173-197 loss to Indian Creek.
Caleb Wallace led the Jets with a 42. Hunter Pappano carded a 44, Brenden Burton added a 52, Marshall Moody shot 54, Colten Hatton had a 59 and Gavin Bain finished with a 62.
Lancers top Twisters
BATESVILLE — Max Blandford won medalist honors with a 40 to lead Edinburgh to a 189-218 win against Oldenburg Academy.
Mason Calhoun and Gabe Bennett each shot 49 for the Lancers. Wyatt Burton carded a 51, Devyn Milburn added a 52 and Keegan Smith shot 59.
BASEBALL
Jets rout Royals
CHARLOTTESVILLE — Hauser wrapped up the regular season with a 12-1, five-inning win at Eastern Hancock.
Holden Pittman and Zayne McCanlis combined on a three-hitter for the Jets (14-13-1). McCanlis went 2 for 2 with two RBIs, Pittman had a home run and two RBIs, Stryker Gill had a triple and two RBIs, and Simeon Wasil had two RBIs.
