Kenneth Keith King Jr.

MADISON

Mr. Kenneth Keith King Jr., age 78, of Madison, Indiana, entered this life on July 14, 1944 in the farmhouse on the family farm in Washington County, Indiana. He was the loving son of the late Kenneth K King, Sr. and Frances B. Miller King, the fifth of six children to this union. Kenny began elementary school at Ebenezer School in 1950. Then he attended school and graduated from Salem Washington Township High School in 1962. After high school, Kenny completed Draughton drafting college in 1963. In 1964, Kenny began his career with Cummins Engine Company and retired in 1996. Kenny entered the United States Marine Corps. Reserves on October 1964 and retired after 30 years of service as Chief Warrant Officer 4. On June 16, 1968, Kenny was united in marriage to Jan Gayle McCarty and this happy union of 52 years was blessed with two children, Julie Dawn and Lee Daniel. Kenny had a passion for always serving others. He loved watching old westerns with his church friends and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Kenny died on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at 11:05 a.m. at his home in Madison, Indiana.

A LOVING FAMILY

Kenneth will be missed by his loving daughter, Julie Cook and her husband Kelly of Crestwood, Kentucky; his son, Daniel King and his wife Kelly Jean of Olive Branch, Mississippi; his grandchildren, James, Ben, Libby, Kaden, Julianne, and Burkley; his brother, William “Bill’ King and his wife Lygia of Burlenson, Texas; his brothers and sisters in law, Mark McCarty and his wife Debbie of Clarksville, Indiana, Chris McCarty and his wife Charlotte of New Albany, Indiana, Mike McCarty and his wife Becky of New Albany, Indiana, Kent McCarty of Clarksville, Indiana, and Kay McCarty of Madison, Indiana; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Keith King, Sr., died June 2, 1997, his mother, Frances Bernadeen Miller King, died May 24, 2001, his wife, Jan Gayle McCarty King, died July 18, 2020, his brother, John David King, died December 24, 2010, and his sisters, Dorothy Jean King Walton, died October 8, 2015, Carol Lee King Chenier, died December 31, 2021, and Mary Burns, died May 15, 2022.

FUNERAL CEREMONY

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, July 1, 2023, at 2:00 p.m., at Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive Madison, Indiana. Interment will be held at a later date in the Fairmount Cemetery in Madison, Indiana

VISITATION

Friends may visit Saturday from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive Madison, Indiana.
