FEMALE

Anna Donica // Columbus North senior soccer player

Anna Donica

Donica scored both goals for the Bull Dogs Saturday in a season-opening 4-2 loss to Terre Haute South.

Her performance last week: “I wasn’t expecting to get two goals. My coach had always said whenever I score in a game, he was going to pull me off and say ‘I told you so.’ because I never think I’m going to score. I’m still getting used to that position (forward) because it’s a position I’ve never played before.”

Do you do anything special to prepare? “I really just like being in the locker room with my teammates and listening to music.”

Favorite drink: “I’m a big fan of Cherry Coke.”

Favorite food: “A bowl from Chipotle”

Favorite class: “AP Government with Mr. Marsh.”

Favorite sports team: “Michigan because of (former North soccer player) Jenna Lang”

Favorite athlete: “(US National team player) Alex Morgan”

Role model: “My parents (Matt and Robin Donica). They showed me how to work hard and be passionate about what I do.”

Best advice: “It’s not over until it’s over. You never know when you’re going to be able to come back in a game, and you just have to work hard until the end because anything can change.”

Athletics goal: “I really want to get out of sectional this year and hopefully out of regional.”

If you could travel anywhere: “Anywhere in the Caribbean. I’ve been to the Dominican Republic, and it was so pretty. I would love to see all of that area.”
