Marlene Fabiny Dollinger, 91, of Mishawaka, Indiana passed away on Friday, July 14, 2023. She was born on March 29, 1932 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Thomas and Stella (Nowak) Fabiny. Marlene was also preceded in death by two daughters, Robin Forbes and Marla Page. She is survived by two daughters, Cheryl Noble of Fort Collins, Colorado, Shauna Dollinger of Kewanna, Indiana, three sons, Gregg (Deborah) Dollinger of Rochester, New York, Mark (Lori) Dollinger of South Bend, Indiana, Tom (Anita Brueck) Dollinger of West Lafayette, Indiana, ten grandchildren, Amanda, Cori, Kurt, John, Mary, Lauren, Hannah, Nicholas, Emma and Kiera and seven great grandchildren, Luke, Ara, Harrison, June, Jack, Jasmine and Presley. Marlene spent most of her life in service to others and was an active member of the Columbus, IN community. She was named a Sagamore of the Wabash by Governor Evan Bayh for her leadership in youth services, was a Lilly Fellow, and was recognized for her service by different organizations. While Marlene was recognized and presented other awards and citations, she was most proud of receiving the Benjamin M. King award for her community service contributions. Marlene served as the first director of Sans Souci in Columbus, and after working in other capacities in the community, she later returned to Sans Souci to work as a mentor and cashier, eventually retiring in 2019. Cremation has taken place. An open house and celebration of life will be held on Monday, August 28th at Sans Souci, 1526 13th St., Columbus, IN.
