COLUMBUS
Patricia “Patty” Gibson-Mason, passed away in Columbus, Indiana, on May 16, 2024. She was born July 19, 1959, in Pineville, Kentucky, to Rev. Harlie Gibson and Selana Gibson.
Patty attended Columbus Central Jr. High School and Columbus East High School; Patty worked for Art’s Cleaners for several years before becoming sick. She enjoyed crocheting, doing puzzles, gardening and horses, and spending time with her family and friends. Patty also enjoyed going on vacation when she could and visiting friends and family in Michigan, Maine, New York, and several other places of interest.
She is survived by her beloved daughters, Aliea Mason, and Amber Mason, who will forever treasure her unconditional love. Patty’s world was also brightened by her fiancé, Jackie Gibson, and her stepchildren, Bridget Gibson and Eric Gibson. Patty is also survived by her brother Lee Gibson (Tina Wilson), her sisters Lynn Gibson, Sandy Jaral, and Deenen Miller (James), and her treasured grandchildren, Josh, Destiny, Austin, John, Zethaniel, Ethan, Imori, Jayla, Malik, Zamaria, Javeya, and James, and her nieces and nephews; Nikki, Nathan, Jeni, Jeremy, Jessica, Justin, James, and Jakob.
Patty was preceded in death by her parents.
A Celebration of Patty’s life will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2024, beginning at 6:00 p.m. with Donnie Carlock officiating at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will also be on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.
