Patricia Fancher

We are sad to announce the passing of Patricia (Patty) J. Fancher, 77, of Franklin, Indiana, on April 15, 2024 at Compass Park: Indiana Masonic Home in Franklin, Indiana. Born in Rankin, Illinois on February 9, 1947, Patty was the daughter of Evelyn and Ernest Bushue. She married Wayne Fancher on August 17, 1968 in Penfield, IL.

Survivors include daughters, Angela Fancher of Columbus, IN; Camilla (Donald) Fancher-Anderson of Newburgh, IN; son, Wayne Patrick (Maria) Fancher of Franklin, IN; siblings, Judy (Bushue) Johnson, Janet (Bushue) Schramm, and Mike Bushue; grandchildren, Olivia and Isaac Anderson, Patrick and Lilly Fancher, and Mason, Shelby, and Grace Lasure; and several nieces and nephews who she loved dearly.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, sister Belva (Bushue) Trudeau, brothers Don and Harold Bushue, and husband Wayne.

Patty graduated from Rankin High School in 1964. Her life was long and varied, with a notable talent for bringing people together with delicious food as a co-owner of a restaurant with her husband, Wayne, in Rankin and a cafeteria worker at Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation in Indiana. She later retired as an administrative professional working for her brother-in-law and nephew at Central Sheet Metal in Columbus, Indiana.

Patty loved attending her grandchildren’s music and athletic events. She enjoyed reading, gardening, camping, boating and listening to music with her family.

Patty will especially be remembered for her love, humor and devotion to her family.

A Celebration of Patty’s Life will be held Saturday, July 20, 2024 at Rankin’s Lions Club in Rankin, IL, from 2:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M.
