Our Hospice Decatur Golf Tournament raises more than $28,000

The 30th Annual Decatur Golf Tournament on June 21 at Greensburg Country Club raised more than $28,000 to support Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.

Sixteen teams and 64 golfers came together for this annual fundraiser, benefiting Our Hospice patients and families in Decatur County. The first-place team this year was DC Integrated Medicine. The event kicked off with opening remarks from Steph Cain, President of Our Hospice, Jim Wenning, a member of the Decatur Community Relations Committee (CRC) and Our Hospice volunteer Connie Witkemper.

Julie Davis, Our Hospice event and volunteer services manager, expressed her appreciation to the community for an event that has raised more than $778,000 over 30 years.

“Proceeds from the Decatur Golf Tournament directly impact the lives of patients and families facing end-of-life care,” Cain said. “Last year alone, we provided $83,500 in uncompensated care, along with essential support services like bereavement care.”

In 2023, the Our Hospice team and volunteers provided care for more than 1,100 patients, including 387 individuals with advanced illness in Decatur County. They also made over 467 bereavement contacts supporting patient families in Decatur County.

Columbus-based Our Hospice of South Central Indiana serves patients and families in a 16-county area and also has office locations in Greensburg and North Vernon. More information is available at ourhospice.org.
