OAKLAND CITY — IU Columbus cruised in the first set then pulled out two close sets Friday to post a 25-15, 26-24, 25-23 River States Conference volleyball win at Oakland City.
Bailey Stevens recorded 21 assists and one ace, and Mikaela Salinas notched 20 digs and one ace to lead the Crimson Pride (18-7, 9-4). Cora Baker pounded 13 kills, Ava Granson had three blocks and Sadie Egan served one ace.
Also for IUC, Ruthie Bingham and Journee Brown each tallied nine kills, and Baker had two blocks. Egan posted 11 assists, Alyvia Luce added three assists, Stevens notched 20 digs and Kami Vester contributed eight digs.
The Crimson Pride play at Brescia Saturday, then will wrap up the regular season at home Friday against Saint Mary-of-the-Woods and Saturday against IU Kokomo. IUC has clinched a spot in the RSC Tournament, which begins Nov. 11.
