Olivia Johnson got a taste of varsity basketball last year as a junior at Columbus North.

PORTLAND, Ind. — The Columbus North wrestlers finished second out of 15 teams at Friday’s East Central Indiana Classic with 173.5 points. Host Jay County won the invite with 224.5 points.

Columbus East kept it close with Class 3A No. 5 Greensburg for the first quarter, but it didn’t take long to see why the Pirates were one of the top teams in their respective class.

Columbus North trailed 37-25 at halftime and eventually fell to Franklin Central 68-61.

Triton Central led 27-11 at the half and went on to hand Hauser a 53-21 loss.
