Next Generation Day kicks off at 10:00 am at the Bartholomew County Public Library Plaza with a short program that features:

Honoring the 5th- and 6th-grade STEM project and the organizers of this project, Davida Harden, Allison Meyer, and Ashley Toler;
Honoring the Design Education Team, the students who participated, and the instructor who lead the project, Spencer Steenblik;
A performance by the Columbus East High School Center Stage Show Choir; and
A performance by the Columbus Indiana Philharmonic Youth Orchestra.
Following the program, you are encouraged to grab a Yes And Scavenger Hunt Card and set off to explore all 13 unique installatons. At each installation, you will complete a quick site-related task to earn a stamp from the stationed Council for Youth Development Youth Ambassdor. Once you collect all 13 stamps, bring your card back to the Library Plaza to redeem a free treat from Lemonade Bros and Caypops!

Honored that day will be over 30 miniature installations created by 5th-grade BCSC elementary students that each answer the question, “How could your favorite downtown Columbus building be re-envisioned for the future?” These projects were designed and built in the BCSC STEM classes over the past year and will be displayed in eight downtown business and organization windows.

This event is created in collaboration with the Council for Youth Development, the Bartholomew County Public Library, Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation STEM and C4 Programs, and the Indiana University J. Irwin Miller Architecture Program.
