Elsie M. VonFange, 94, of Columbus, died at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept, 22, 2015, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.

Elsie was born Sept. 22, 1921 in Columbus, the daughter of August and Clara Mensendiek Arnholt. She married Weldon H. VonFange February 10, 1946. He preceded her in death on July 2, 2010.

For many years, Elsie was an active member of Tabitha Guild at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church where she was a member. She loved to quilt, embroider and crochet.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 28, 2015, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Pastor Patrick Galligar and Larry Klebenow officiating. Calling will be from 9 a.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana, St. Peter’s Lutheran School or donor’s choice of charity through the funeral home.

Survivors include her sons, David W. (Eileen) VonFange of Columbus and Jim R. VonFange of Seymour; grandchildren, Tamberly (Chad) Goecker, Christina (Greg) Hottell and Tim (Lindsey) VonFange; and great-grandchildren, Jodi Goecker, Tyler Goecker, Ben Hottell, Nick Hottell, Katie Hottell, Ella VonFange and Isaac VonFange.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Weldon; son, Nathan L. VonFange; brothers, Edwin Arnholt, Louis Arnholt, Walter Arnholt, Paul Arnholt, Richard Arnholt and Robert Arnholt; and a sister, Emma Gertrude Arnholt VonFange.
