Mr. Jacob Wright Tipton, age 18, of Madison, Indiana near Canaan died at 7 p.m. on Saturday, March 26, 2016, at his home.

Jacob entered this life on July 8, 1997, in Jeffersonville, Indiana. He was the loving son of Jason and Jamie L. Ritchey Tipton. Jacob was raised in Charlestown for seven years and in 2000 his family moved to Canaan. He was attending Southwestern Jr. and Sr. High School where he was expected to graduate in May. After graduation Jacob planned to relocate to Alaska and become a diesel mechanic. Jacob worked as a farm laborer for Kevin Kellems in Canaan, Indiana. He was a member of the Jefferson County 4-H, Cub Scouts and was an accomplished junior high wrestler at Southwestern. He attended North Madison Christian Church and Indian-Kentuck Baptist Church. He was often riding his four wheeler, International, Massey Ferguson and John Deere tractors. Jacob liked being outdoors, hiking, camping, fishing, listening to country music and driving Chevy trucks. He was a fan of I.U. basketball, Colts football, Broncos football and NASCAR. Jacob enjoyed watching movies, Duck Dynasty, Gold Rush and playing with his dog Swayla. He was a terrific big brother, a loving son and grandson who loved his friends and family so much. He had a loving and caring heart and was always trying to help others. Jacob worked hard around the house when he wasn’t working at the neighbors farm.

Jacob will be missed by his loving parents, Jon Jason and Jamie L. Ritchey Tipton of Canaan, Indiana; his loving brothers, Daniel and Matthew Tipton of Canaan, Indiana; his maternal grandmother and grandfather, Barbara and Thomas Cooper of Taylorsville, Kentucky; his paternal grandmother, Bonnie Cook of Madison, Indiana; his paternal grandfather and step grandmother, John Tipton and his wife, Jean of Madison, Indiana; his maternal great-grandmother, Jean Shirley of Columbus, Indiana; his aunts, Kim Brierly and her husband, Pat of Louisville, Kentucky, Jodie Tipton of Louisville, Kentucky; his uncle, Justin Cook of Louisville, Kentucky; his cousins, Andrew Livingston of Lexington, Kentucky, Caitlin and Isabell Brierly of Louisville, Kentucky; his family friends, Kevin Kellems of Madison Indiana, Shalon Perez of Columbus, Indiana and Kevin Deamron of Greenwood, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandfather, Donald Shirley, great-great uncle, Raymond Deaton and great-great aunt, Pattie Deaton.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 2, 2016, by Pastor Ed Roberts and Brother Tim Chandler at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana.

Friends may call Friday from 4 – 8 p.m. and from 12 noon until the time of service Saturday at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre.
