Rebie Marie Anderson, 96, of Bloomington, passed away on Saturday April 2, 2016, at IU Health Hospice House. Rebie was born October 7, 1919, in Freesoil, Michigan, and was the daughter of the late Harry D. and Signe (Erickson) Rives.

Rebie married the Rev. L.G. Anderson in 1941 and together they ministered area churches since the 1960s. She loved her family and the Lord.

Rebie was a multi-talented musician, played several instruments and taught piano, violin and guitar. While a resident at Bell Trace Health and Living Center, she played the piano for the Sunday afternoon church services.

Rebie retired from Columbus Regional Hospital where she worked in patient admissions. She attended Shepherd of the Hills Wesleyan Church.

Survivors include four children, Beverly Hill (John) of Bloomington, Paul Anderson (Ramona) of Bamberg, South Carolina, Mary Thornton (Tom) of Jacksonville, Florida, and Philip Anderson of Bloomington. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.

Rebie was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, her husband, the Rev. L.G. Anderson, and a great-granddaughter, Mya Rose Anderson-Brophy.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 7, 2016, and from 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. Friday at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third St. Bloomington. John Hill will officiate. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.

Rebie’s family would like to thank the staff at Bell Trace, especially Kristen Nickell and Terry Sprinkle, and the staff of IU Health Hospice House for all the loving care given to their mother over the past two years.
