The House of Representatives passed an appropriations bill that included a $500,000 planning grant for a new Columbus Enterprise Development Corp. facility, a 50,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art center to be built in the information technology park at Columbus Municipal Airport.

1991

A vandalism spree resulted in thousands of dollars in damage to about 30 vehicles in Columbus and the Grandview and Harrison Lake areas.

1966

A truck loaded with more than 17 tons of meat from Stadler Packing Co., headed for New York, overturned after hitting a tree and a fire hydrant. The driver was uninjured, and the beef was sent on its way in another truck.
