The Rev. Allan Boesak, an anti-apartheid leader who worked alongside the late South African President Nelson Mandela, spoke at the annual William R. Laws Peacemaking Lecture. Rev. Boesak spoke on the topic “The Bridge to Reconciliation, Social Justice and Global Peace From South Africa to Indiana.”

Kindergarten teacher Tomoyo Torli from Nagoya, Japan, visited ABC-Stewart School in Columbus to learn more about American schools. Her hosts were Ed and Angela Miller of Columbus.

1974

Steven Zeller, a Columbus North High School junior, brought home scholarships and monetary awards totaling $10,000, earned on his way to winning the National American Legion High School Oratorical Contest in Sioux Falls, S.D.
