Cummins Inc. reached a new lease agreement for its Corporate Office Building at 500 Jackson St. that would keep the company’s headquarters in Columbus at least through 2019, quelling community concerns the headquarters was headed out of town.

The 46th annual V-J Day parade was conducted in Seymour, making the Jackson County community the only city in the United States to hold a parade every year since 1946.

Because money from the federal government for mortgages and new construction was tight, permits issued in July for new homes in Columbus fell from 27 to 15.
