Gov. Evan Bayh visited Central Middle School to promote his 21st Century Scholars program, which promised tuition for a college education at a state school if they agreed to graduate from high school, stay drug free and apply for college financial aid.

A live buffalo weighing 1,940 pounds was delivered to Stadler Meat Packing plant to provide the main course for a barbecue fundraiser sponsored by the Bartholomew County Republican Party.
