Harold J. Hassfurder, 89, of Madison, died at 5:20 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 25, 2016, at Baptist Health Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.
Survivors include stepsons, Larry Ackerman of Jeffersonville and Matt (Anna) Rousch of Madison; stepdaughters, Kathleen Rousch of Milton, Kentucky, Betty Houze of Dale, Pam Thompson of Couer d’Alene, Idaho, and Sheri (Bob) Lockridge of Madison; a brother, Norman Hassfurder of Madison; seven stepgrandchildren; and 11 stepgreat-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of nine years, Fern Brooks Ackerman Hassfurder, and his second wife of 37 years, Lucile Hauersperger Rousch Hassfurder.
Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre in Madison, with Pastor Joel Almaroad and Father Chris Craig officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. until service time Thursday. A Rosary service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. Burial with full military honors will be at St. Patrick Cemetery in Madison.
Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Jefferson County Animal Shelter.
