Donald E. Brown Sr., 82, of Edinburgh, died at 4 a.m. Monday, Feb. 13, 2017, at his home.

Don was born in Columbus, Oct. 20, 1934, the son of Wilbur Emmett and Eva Louise Barr Brown. He married Shirley Watson, and she survives.

He was a retired electrical contractor and had worked for Growe Electric and Lovelace Electric. He built log homes and was park manager for Sunnybrook Mobil Home Park. He served eight years in the U.S. Air Force, serving in the Korean War, and the Indiana National Guard for 17 years. He was a member of Edinburgh Masonic Lodge #100, York Rite, VFW and Columbus Moose Lodge. He was an avid NASCAR fan.

He is survived by wife, Shirley; children, Donnie (Alice) Brown of North Vernon, James (Vicki) Brown of Columbus, Terry (Bobetta) Brown of North Vernon, Barb (Danny) Dillon of Columbus, Jason (Shila) Brown of Columbus, Don Brown of Elizabethtown, Peggy Brown of Austin, Terry Lynn Brown of Michigan, Travis (Robin) Taylor of Michigan, Lisa Rains of Edinburgh, Frank (Megan) Rains of Columbus, Leanna (Garry) Rooks of Edinburgh, Kylei Thompson of Edinburgh, Dakota Brown of Edinburgh and Abigail Brown of Edinburgh; 33 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded by his parents; first wife, Ethel Brown; grandson, Kyle Morgan; brothers, William and Jack Rosier and David and Philip Brown; sister, Ruthann Skinner.

A celebration of life will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17, 2017, at Grace Tabernacle Church, 512 W. Center Cross St., Edinburgh. In keeping with his wishes, he will be cremated with private inurnment.
