Henry Wischmeier, a social studies, history, health and religion teacher at St. Peter’s Lutheran School, was named the 2007 Distinguished Lutheran Elementary Teacher by the Lutheran Education Association.

1992

Landowner Hubert McNealy signed an option offered by Bartholomew County officials to purchase 130 acres of his land to expand the Petersville landfill east of Columbus.

1967

County commissioners and councilmen were told that because of rapidly rising construction costs, the remodeling of the second floor of the courthouse would cost nearly $15,000 more than the original estimate.
