Daryl Patrick Phillips, 45, of Columbus, passed away unexpectedly at 9:30 p.m. Friday, February 24, 2017, at his residence.

Daryl loved NASCAR racing and assembling model cars. He participated in the pit crew for go kart races and enjoyed tinkering with cars. Skateboarding and low riders were also among the hobbies that he took interest in. There was never a dull moment when Daryl was around. His fun sense of humor will be missed.

Mr. Phillips was born in Columbus, Indiana, May 20, 1971, to John Phillips and Karen Hall.

Survivors include his parents, Gerald (Karen) Plummer of Columbus; siblings, Brian (Courtney) Plummer, Clarissa (Brian Knight) Phillips-Munn, both of Columbus and Leah (Brian) Fastridge of Brownsburg; nephews, Dylan Howe, Damian Phillips, Gage Plummer, Carson Plummer, Blake Plummer and Nathan Plummer; nieces, Olivia Howe, Faith Plummer, Myleigh Munn and Sydnee Munn; and his significant other, Laurie Barrett of Columbus.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Brad Plummer.

The funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 1, 2017, at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street. Calling will be from 9 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
