Elizabethtown resident Charles “Shorty” Whittington was one of five people awarded the Purdue University Agricultural Alumni Association’s Certificate of Distinction in honor of his positive effect on agriculture through professional accomplishments, involve-ment in agricultural activities, community work and other service activities.

The E-Town Restaurant was considered a total loss after an early morning fire but owner Charles Brown said he was determined to rebuild and reopen as quickly as possible.

1967

A committee of Columbus High School faculty members and administrators was named to assist in developing curriculum and needs of a proposed second high school on the southeast side of Columbus.
