Ira Harold Green, 94, of Indianapolis, formerly of Hope, died Tuesday March 7, 2017, at Westside Village Health Facility in Indianapolis.

Before retirement, he was a machine operator at G.M. for 30 years. He was in the U.S. Army Infantry.

He was a member of Norristown Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed the Pacers and the Colts and loved nature, hunting and photography.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Norman Funeral Home in Hope with Pastor Terry England officiating. Visitation will be from noon until service time Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Flat Rock Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be donated to Lighthouse Hospice in Indianapolis.

Born July 1, 1922, in Grayson Co., Kentucky, Ira was the son of Alex W. and Maymie Bratcher Green.

He is survived by children, Duane Green of Phoenix, Arizona, Diana Carmicheal (Jim Achors) of Bloomfield and Sandy Green of Edinburgh; his companion of 53 years, Helen Albertson; and her children, Jessie Cash, Judy Clevenger, Kenny and Bobby, all of Indianapolis; a special niece, Shirley (Steve) Beyer of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Wendy Holcomb, Tyler Carmicheal, Lindsey Carmicheal and Kristen, Joe, Justin and Jeffrey Green; and seven great-grandchildren.

Ira was preceded in death by his parents; a son, David Green; sisters, Bernice and Margie; and brothers, Robert and Miller.
