Brands Inc. began construction on a new office building on California Street near 14th Street to replace the structure lost a year earlier in one of the largest fires in Bartholomew County history.

After an hour of debate, Columbus Parks and Recreation board agreed to open a parking lot on the north end of Lincoln Park as a gathering place for young people on a trial basis.

1967

Columbus purchased a site at the northeast corner of Sixth and Jackson streets for $76,000 for a new city parking lot.
