Dr. Elmer Manalo, who had practices in Greensburg and Cumberland, had his medical license suspended for 90 days after he was accused of a murder-for-hire plot and improperly writing drug prescriptions.

1992

An estimated 5,000 area residents turned out for a firsthand look at Columbus Regional Hospital’s new state-of-the art facilities, taking tours and listening to the remarks of lead architect Robert A.M. Stern and philanthropist J. Irwin Miller.

County residents Don Force, Mrs. James Hendricks and Herbert Boeschen were presented with Rural Service awards, which recognize the “untiring efforts of individuals who donate their time and effort for community betterment,” during the annual community steak barbecue.
