Bartholomew Consolidated School Board members voted 6-1 to purchase the former Hoosier Parts building on 25th Street for about $1.9 million and to spend an additional $5 million to transform it into New Tech High School.

1992

Thirty-eight Bartholomew County Hospital patients were evacuated from the sixth floor after a fire started in a trash container in a utility room. There were no injuries.

1967

Vernco Corp. officials announced plans to build a multi-million-dollar plant at Lake Havasu City, Arizona, for production of a new line of power hand tools.
