A six-hour standoff led to the evacuation of several homes on the city’s north side and the arrest of a Columbus man.


Pumps drawing contaminated water from 17 wells under the former Tri-State Plating hazardous waste site slowly reduced levels of chromium but the EPA reported five of the wells were still contaminated.
