Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp. asked Columbus East and Columbus North high school officials to consider phasing out their German programs, which had the lowest enrollment of any foreign language, to make way for a Mandarin Chinese program.

Bartholomew County Commissioners declared a state of emergency in Rockcreek Township in response to a tornado that struck downtown Grammer and surrounding areas.

1967

The Indiana Employment Security Division ranked Bartholomew County second as a major center for the manufacture of non-electrical machinery and equipment in the state, with 19 firms employing 12 percent of the workers in that industry.
