Organizers preparing gift boxes for the Columbus Fireman’s Cheer Fund reported bicycle and used-toy donations down from previous years.

Columbus North High School students who called themselves Designers of a Visionary Environment, or DOVE for short, spent weekends and afterschool hours cleaning up a trail running along Haw Creek north of 25th Street that had become a dumping ground.

1967

A United Press International board of coaches ranked the Columbus High School Bull Dogs boys basketball team second in the state and first among area schools, while an Associated Press panel of sportswriters tabbed the team as third-best in the state.
