Ann Maria Gossman

SPANISH FORT, ALA.

Ann Maria McMahan Gossman, 75, of Spanish Fort, Alabama, formerly of Columbus, passed away in her sleep surrounded by her family on December 26, 2017.

Ann is survived by her husband, David M. Gossman of Spanish Fort, Alabama; a son, Eric M. (Dina) Gossman of Warner Robins, Georgia; a daughter, Mara B. (Chris) Gossman, of Spanish Fort, Alabama; seven grandchildren, Amanda of Columbus, Indiana, Tanner, Tatum, Tucker, and Tessa of Warner Robbins, Georgia and Kane and Baron of Spanish Fort, Alabama.

Ann was born on February 19, 1942, in Columbus, Indiana, to Clyde and Pauline McMahan along with her brothers, Merrill and Dennis McMahan. Ann graduated from Columbus High school in Columbus, Indiana. She graduated from William Woods University of Fulton, Missouri and also attended Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana.

In addition to her life and career, Ann worked for many years at Dunlap Construction Company and held several positions in Kansas City, Missouri and Columbus, Georgia. She attended St. Peters Lutheran Church in Columbus, Indiana.

Ann passed away peacefully in her sleep after a short illness. She will be remembered as an excellent mother, a dear friend, and a positive figure in the community. She had numerous friends wherever she lived. Ann was an avid bridge and mahjong player. Ann loved her grandchildren very much.

A memorial will be held this spring at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home, 3855 25th St., Columbus, IN 47203. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Ann’s life.
