Parkside and Southside elementary schools were named Four Star Schools by the Indiana Department of Education, the state’s highest distinction based on student achievement on ISTEP assessments and overall attendance rates.

Tom Wetherald of Columbus purchased Castalia, the 10,000-square-foot Harrison Lake home built in the 1960s by the late Elsie Irwin Sweeney.

1968

About $2,000 was taken from Scott’s Five and 10-Cent Store in 25th Street Shopping Center by burglars who cut a hole in the building’s roof then broke open a safe.
