With some Columbus homes still recovering from the flood and the economy in turmoil, organizers for two local annual Thanksgiving dinners expected more guests than ever and issued pleas for extra food donations and more volunteers.

1993

Columbus Board of Works approved a user fee of up to $290 to support Medic I and Athens Ambulance backup service, replacing a taxpayer-funded system in which the city and county split the $430,000 yearly ambulance cost.

1968

The Central Business Association of downtown Columbus merchants paid $318 to the city to reserve 53 parking spaces in the city lot at Sixth and Jackson streets for holiday shoppers.
