Man arrested on multiple charges after foot pursuit

Bartholomew County Sheriff deputies arrested a local man after a foot pursuit when a deputy recognized the man had two active pending warrants for his arrest.

Deputy Adam Warner was in the 1600 block of West County Road 650N in Taylorsville, when he saw Kyle L. Tews, 26, of 8855 S. County Road 300W, leaving an apartment in the area.

When Warner attempted to arrest Tews, Tews ran east along West County Road 650N, deputies said.

Deputies Andrew Dougan and Robert Cooper arrived to assist and Tews surrendered, deputies said. The deputies later determined that Tews had criminally trespassed at the apartment where he had been seen.

Tews was arrested on preliminary charges of resisting law enforcement, criminal trespass and two body attachment warrants out of Bartholomew County, deputies said.
