Bartholomew County REMC broke ground for its planned 36,300-square-foot building at the corner of Deaver Road and County Road 175W on land that formerly was a part of the Walesboro Airport.

Columbus East and Columbus North high school juniors and seniors donned tuxedos and gowns to attend the “Oh What a Night” prom at The Commons followed by “The Wild, Wild West” after-prom event at Lincoln Center.

A request for a variance by Nyffeler Appliance Co. to build a new store in the area of 23rd and California streets was denied after about 25 residents appeared in protest at a meeting of Columbus Board of Zoning Appeals, but after a few modifications to meet city requirements the variance request was approved.
