Foundation for Youth has opened registration for its Great Girls Wonderful Women luncheon which raises funds for the FFY Scholarship Fund.

This year’s luncheon will be from noon to 1:30 p.m. Oct. 22 at FFY with the theme “Invent Your Tomorrow!”

In its fifth year, the Great Girls Wonderful Women program connects community leaders with some of FFY’s “great girls,” by seating community representatives with FFY participants during the luncheon.

Each table at the luncheon has six community representatives and two FFY “great girls” who get to know possible mentors in the community through the event.

Proceeds from the event support the girls in FFY programming, particularly if fees are a barrier to their family.

Keynote speaker will be Angie May, president of Analytical Engineering Inc., in Columbus, which has been in operation for 25 years. She is a graduate of Tri-State University with a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Purdue University. She serves on the boards of several nonprofits in Bartholomew County, along with serving on an advisory board for an Indiana bank.

Kimberly Easton, an award-winning television news reporter and anchor, will emcee the event. She has a master’s degree in communications and the arts. She is currently CEO of KEI Connects, a strategic communication business, and is Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp.’s multicultural diversity director. She is a long-time member of the National Association of Black Journalists.

The luncheon will be prepared and served by Artisan Foodworks.

Foundation for Youth offers high quality youth and community programming including opportunities to participate in The Boys and Girls Club, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Columbus Youth Camp, athletics and much more.
