Church to have milk distribution

Purdue Extension is partnering with Prairie Farms to distribute free gallons of milk to those in need as part of the U.S. Department of Agriculture Farmers to Families Food Box Program.

In Bartholomew County, the next giveaway will be 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (or until all milk is distributed) July 24 at Sandy Hook United Methodist Church, 1610 Taylor Road.

Those seeking to pick up milk are asked to enter from the back of the church property from South Drive or Saddle Drive.

A refrigerated truck will be in the church parking lot for distribution of 4,000 gallons of free 2% milk from Prairie Farms. Anyone may drive in and pick up milk and there is no need to get out of your car.

The USDA’s Agricultural Marketing Service is purchasing fresh produce, dairy and meat products from national, regional and local suppliers affected by COVID-19 to provide to food pantries and nonprofits.
