Hellen E. Schlehuser, 94, of Columbus, passed from this life at 11:30 p.m. Thursday, May 14, 2015, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
Mrs. Schlehuser retired in 1978 from Cummins Engine Co. where she had worked for over 30 years.
She was a charter member of Faith Lutheran Church which started in a tin shop in 1962 on Mr. and Mrs. Schlehuser’s property.
She moved to Haines, Florida, in 1978 and lived there for 34 years. In 2012 she moved back to Columbus where she was a resident of Parkside Court.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Faith Lutheran Church with the Rev. Todd Riordan officiating.
Family and friends may call from 10 a.m. until time of service Monday at the church.
Entombment will be at Garland Brook Mausoleum.
Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Lutheran Church, St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jonesville or Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.

Born in Columbus, March 27, 1921, Mrs. Schlehuser was the daughter of Frank and Sarah Tiemeyer Bolte.
She married Fred F. Schlehuser November 9, 1947. He preceded her in death January 3, 2000.
Survivors include four nieces; 13 nephews; several great-nieces and nephews; and several great-great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother, Marvin Bolte; and a sister, Norma Jean Burbrink.
