Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp. schools replaced sugary sodas in machines with bottled water and diet, low-calorie soft drinks and switched candy bars and other fatty foods with granola bars and healthy snacks.


Columbus East and Columbus North football teams combined to beat Seymour and Shelbyville 40-7 in the annual Columbus North Jamboree.


The summer’s final two shows at Donner Park shelterhouse were canceled because of ill-behaved children. Loud talking, booing and tossing of debris onto the stage reached a peak during the annual playground show and the future of the traditional summer entertainment was in doubt.
