Lewis E. Branom Jr., 56, of Columbus, passed away peacefully at 9:10 p.m. Saturday, December 31, 2016, at Silver Oaks Health Campus.
Mr. Branom will be remembered as a fun man who could make friends anywhere. His sarcastic wit and sense of humor will remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
Lewis was born in Seymour, Indiana, October 28, 1960, to the late Lewis Branom Sr. and Peggy Brightwell Branom.
Survivors include his children, Taren Flippins-Branom of Columbus and Justin Wills of Indianapolis; grandchildren; Nehemiah Scruggs, Zacaria Scruggs, Zerekiah Scruggs and Isrea’l Scruggs; sisters, Penny Childs, Pam Lawrence and Rev. Mary Jane Downs; significant other, Geniva Coleman; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, Keon Wills; step-mother, Thelma Branom; brother, Charles Anderson; and grandson, Keon Wills Jr.
A memorial service will be conducted at noon Thursday, January 5, 2017, at the Second Baptist Church, 1325 10th St., with the Rev. Larry Rowe officiating. Calling will be from 11 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.
