Shelbyville
William “Bill” Shaw, 96, of Shelbyville, Indiana, passed away February 16, 2017, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana In-Patient Facility. He was born August 15, 1920, in Shelby County, Indiana. He was the son of Charles Martin and Emma Mae (Kanouse) Shaw. He married Ruth (Hamblen) Shaw on May 3, 1952. She preceded him in death on October 13, 2004.
He is survived by several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; brothers, Marshall Shaw and Ralph Shaw; and sisters, Pauline Hill, Cordelia Dobbs and Mary Lawless.
He was a lifelong farmer in Shelby County, retiring in 1982. He was a US Army veteran and a member of the VFW Post 2695 and the American Legion Post 0070 in Shelbyville.
He enjoyed fishing, camping, BINGO, music and the staff and his friends at McKay Manor in Shelbyville, Indiana.
The funeral service will be conducted at 4:30 p.m., Saturday, February 18, 2017, by Melissa Shaw Jaques at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh, Indiana. Calling will be from 3 p.m. until time of service. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
