Larry W. Giles, 68 of Edinburgh, passed away March 5, 2017, at Columbus Regional Hospital in Columbus. He was born June 28, 1948, in Edinburgh, the son of Nolan and Nerva (Burton) Giles. He married Betty (Chandler) Giles, and she preceded him in death on Jan. 20, 2015.
He is survived by daughters, Angi (Mike) Whitis and Kim Giles, both of Edinburgh; granddaughter, Thalessa (Chris Ayers) Whitis; great-grandson, Addysen Whitis; former wife, Wanda Giles of Edinburgh; brothers, Jerry D. (Joyce) Giles and Carl (Geraldine) Giles, both of Edinburgh, Richard (Carolyn) Giles of Columbus, Clarence (Gloria) Giles of Dyersburg, Tennessee, and Steven Dale (Ann) Giles of Columbus; and a sister, Darlene (Dale) Scott of Edinburgh.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brothers, Willie Giles, James Giles, William Giles and David Giles; and sisters, Brenda Sue Giles, Diane VanScyoc and Aline Giles.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, working on cars and lawn equipment, and sports.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, March 10, 2017, by the Rev. Marvin Brown at Who-So-Ever-Will Community Church in Edinburgh. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the church and from 10 a.m. until time of service Friday. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
