Earl L. ‘Bob’ Trimpe

WAYMANSVILLE

Earl L. “Bob” Trimpe, 83, of Waymansville, Indiana, passed from this life at 5:30 a.m. Sunday, December 31, 2017 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.

Mr. Trimpe was born March 15, 1934, in Waymansville, one of eight children of Everett and Lydia Vogt Trimpe. He married Ethel Wayt June 14, 1953. She preceded him in death September 2, 1984. He later married Carolyn Voss Darlage July 31, 1993.

For over 30 years, Mr. Trimpe was employed at Central Sheet Metal in Columbus, retiring in 1997 as a shop foreman.

He was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Union Local No. 20. He was a faithful member of St. Peter Lutheran Church-Waymansville where he held various positions and most offices of the church and was a member of the Adult Fellowship.

Mr. Trimpe’s favorite pastime was mowing grass and he enjoyed fixing things, helping others repair items, and tinkering in the garage.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn; children, Kevin (JoAnne) Trimpe of Northfield, Illinois, Chris (Tina) Trimpe of Ogilville, Debbie (Charlie Jr.) Wells of Columbus, Lynn (Gay) Darlage of Shelbyville, and Karen (Doug) Toombs of White Pigeon, Michigan; a daughter-in-law, Cindy Trimpe and her husband, Joe Tempio of Mooresville; grandchildren, Jack Trimpe, Kristin (Zach) Wilson, Amanda (Michael) Ardizzone, Alex Trimpe, Braden Trimpe, Lydia Trimpe, Chuck (Suzanne) Wells, Zach (Jennifer) Wells, Mackenzie Wells, Chad (Sadie) Darlage, Nicholas Darlage and his fiancee, Jessica Brown, Jacob (Caitlyn) Darlage, Casey (Michael) McCrady, and Mallory (Casey) Colbert; 14 Great-Grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Doris J. “Dode” Trimpe of Columbus and Norma J. Trimpe of Columbus; and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Trimpe was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Ethel; a son, Keith A. Trimpe; a twin brother, Edgar L. Trimpe; and other siblings, Laverne Schafstall, Edward James Trimpe, Lorna M. Barker, Ernest Trimpe, Elmer Charles “Charlie” Trimpe, and Loretta J. Wessel.

The funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Peter Lutheran Church-Waymansville with the Rev. John L. Beabout officiating.

Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street and from 9 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church.

Burial will be at St. Peter Lutheran Church Cemetery.
