Jenny’s picks

I’ll be honest, I’m more than a little afraid of most outdoor living implements. I’ve only recently mastered the lawn mower, and I don’t think I’ll ever learn to grill. Oh, but my heart does yearn to cook outside! But maybe I’ll score the confidence and skills to grill at Cooking Rocks, a demonstration by Artisan Foodworks executive chef Alexa Lemley who will, at 6:30 p.m. Monday, demonstrate how to use salt rocks, pizza stones and more to create amazing grilled dishes. Event will be at the Library Plaza, 536 Fifth St. in Columbus, so bring a chair. Rain Location: Red Room. Information: 812-379-1266, mybcpl.org.

Get this one on the calendar: From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 23, more than 35 quilts by Lois Griffith will be on display at the First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, 3300 Fairlawn Drive in Columbus. Griffith has been quilting since 1982 and actively involved in teaching and organizing the Columbus Star Quilt Guild. One of her quilts will be auctioned (silent auction) with proceeds going to Missionary Aviation Fellowship.
