The Columbus Area Chamber of Commerce is warning its members than an email scam is circulating involving a fake email from "Jane Lester" who claims to be selling tickets for Columbus East High School.
The scam has been reported around the United States involving the Lester woman selling schedule cards and pocket sports schedules, according to the chamber.
Chamber officials said the email is a scam and asked those receiving it to disregard it.
The chamber is still trying to determine how the scammer acquired the chamber’s email list, and said the chamber website has been updated with security upgrades to prevent this from happening in the future.
