A group of Seymour residents worked to get the former Indiana State Police post, built in 1937 as part of President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s Works Progress Administration and the first state police post in Indiana, recognized as a historic site.

1995

A tanker filled with 8,500 gallons of unleaded gasoline exploded into a fireball after being struck by a vehicle on State Road 7 one mile west of the Jennings County Line.

Signs marking the route of the Columbus architectural tour were erected along streets and roads in Columbus by Columbus Exchange Club.
