NORTH VERNON
Ralph Louis Biehle, 90, of North Vernon, passed away peacefully, at Autumn Trace on Saturday, December 19, 2020.
A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 29, 2020, at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church and can be viewed through the Jennings County Catholic Facebook Page. Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service are in charge of the arrangements.
Born on June 6, 1930 in North Vernon, he was the loving son of Valentine and Fayette (Carney) Biehle. Ralph was united in marriage to Alberta Matern on August 17, 1957 at St. Anne Catholic Church. She survives.
Ralph was a graduate of Vernon High School. Ralph was a true farmer. Loving his family, working the land and tending to the animals was his passion. He built a life he loved on his farm, not for himself, but for his family. A lifestyle that will be passed on for many generations to come. His hard work ethics and passion will never be forgotten. He was a lifelong member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and was a past member of the Associated Milk Producers Inc., Farm Bureau Inc., and the Jennings County Soil and Water Conservation Board.
In addition to his wife Alberta (Matern) Biehle of North Vernon, survivors include sons, Ed (Lisa) Biehle of North Vernon, Marvin (Anita) Biehle of North Vernon, Tom (Iris) Biehle of North Vernon; daughters Marie (Dwayne) Baurle of North Vernon, Dorothy (Rick) Bailey of North Vernon, and Donna (Joseph) Gerringer of North Vernon; sister Deloris Sorg of Elizabeth, Indiana; grandchildren, Chris (Jess) Bailey, Jenny (Jim) Kent, Susanne (Nathan Day) Biehle, Nathan (Kristal) Biehle, Ryan (Amy) Baurle, David (Catherine) Baurle, Justin Baurle, Sara (Jake) Speer, Caryn (Jason) Clapp, Dale (Brooke) Gerringer, Marvin Jacob (Kyndra) Biehle, Marnita (Joe) Schwartz, Marisa Biehle, Kent Biehle; and 23 great grandchildren.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents Valentine & Fayette Biehle; daughter Judy Biehle; brothers Gene Biehle, Frank Biehle; sisters Doris Biehle, Sally (Virgie) Hill, Rosemary Morin, and Catherine Garbutt.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to St. Mary’s Catholic Church and St. Mary’s Catholic School.
