Mr. James L. Booker, age 73, of Hanover, Indiana entered this life on June 25, 1947 in Columbus, Indiana. He was the loving son of the late Warren E. and Flora B. Scott Booker. He was raised and schooled in Columbus. He had resided in Madison/Hanover area the past 30 years and had worked for DSI. Jimmy attended the West Madison United Methodist Church in downtown Madison. He loved his Res-Care family, loved to dance, loved singing, loved the Temptations, liked to have fun with his directors and enjoyed life. Jimmy died on Saturday, February 6, 2021, at 4:45 p.m. at the King’s Daughters’ Hospital in Madison, Indiana. Jimmy will be missed by his brothers, Earl Booker and his wife, Anita of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Henry Booker of Indiana; his sister, Elizabeth Ann Booker Seniours of Indianapolis, Indiana; his Res-Care family; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father, Warren E. Booker, died April 2, 1989, his mother, Flora B. Scott Booker, died February 18, 2007, his sisters, Marilyn Kaye Booker, died September 12, 1949, Penny Sue Booker, died March 22, 1988, his brothers, Richard W. Booker, died June 5, 2006, William Warren Booker, died June 20, 2016, and Larry Arnold Booker, died March 14, 2019. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, February 11, 2021, at 12:00 Noon, by Pastor David Leland at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Garland Brook Cemetery, 501 North Gladstone Avenue in Columbus, Indiana. Friends may visit Thursday from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 Noon at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to Res-Care Activities Fund.
