Geraldine Burnett, 79, of Scipio, passed away at 1:50 a.m. on Friday, March 5, 2021, at her residence.

Born November 24, 1941, in Lockport, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Oldham “Blue” and Vernon (Holmes) Dunaway. She married Harold Wayne Burnett on December 15, 1965, in English, Kentucky; he survives.

Geraldine was a graduate of Carrol County High School and attended Cincinnati Bible School. She was a homemaker and member of Crossroads Community Church in Elizabethtown. Geraldine enjoyed going to the beach, reading, flowers and gardening, painting, Elvis; and spending time with her family.

Surviving with her husband, Harold, are sons, Chris (Darlene) Burnett of North Vernon and Wesley (Christina) Burnett of Shelbyville; daughter, Angela (Bill) Ford of North Vernon; sisters, Alma Minch of Owenton, Kentucky and Lilly “Billie” Marcum of Durham, North Carolina; grandchildren, C.J. (Hayley) Burnett of Scipio, Ashton Burnett and Wayne Burnett, both of Greenwood, Amber Burnett of Shelbyville, Abby Rowlett, Will Rowlett, Adriana Rowlett, and Ariela Rowlett, all of North Vernon, and Chris Ford of Edinburgh; and great-grandchildren, Carter and Nora Burnett, both of Scipio.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 7, 2021 at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home in North Vernon with the Rev. Tracy McIntire officiating. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 12:00 p.m. (noon) until the time of the service. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery in Vernon.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Crossroad Community Church or Our Hospice of Jennings County.
