TAYLORSVILLE, INDIANA
Conda Varrow Almond, 85, of Taylorsville, passed away at 5:22 p.m., March 18, 2021 at his residence.
Conda was born September 16,1935 in Mack Roberts, Ky., the son of Clifton Allmond and Ruby (Hickman) Allmond. He married Matilda Angeline Jones September 23, 1956.
Conda served in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany from 1954 to 1956. He retired from Reliance Electric and enjoyed camping, hiking, fishing, hunting and spending time outdoors. He especially loved spending time with his family.
The funeral will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at Jewell – Rittman Family Funeral Home with Pastor Doug Sharp officiating. Calling will be from 12:00 until time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Flat Rock Baptist Cemetery with military honors by the Bartholomew County Veterans Honor Guard.
Memorials may be made to the Bible Church of Columbus.
Survivors include his wife Matilda Angeline Jones, daughters, Joann (Doug) Sharp of Elizabethtown, Lilah Garrett of Taylorsville, Leah Ellen (Mark) Johnson of Columbus, brothers, Jimmy Allmond of Anderson, Doug (Lois) Allmond of Hazard, Ky., Michael (Betty) Allmond of Jackson, Ky., Cornelius (Sharon) Allmond of Covington, Ga as well as Billy Ray (Edith) Allmond of Hazard, Ky., sister, Brenda Kay Allmond of Booneville, Ky., grandchildren, Caleb Simpson, Kisha (Price) Allman, Jonathan (Jennifer) Simpson, Shelby Simpson, Jeremy (Holly) Sharp, Heather (Bryan) Brown, Jennifer (David) McDowell, Jamie Johnson, great ~ grandchildren, Riley Seniours, Indy Allman, Lillian Simpson, Atticus Sharp, Issac Brown, Jonas Brown, Avram Brown, Grace McDowell, Madelyn McDowell.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifton Allmond and Ruby (Hickman) Allmond, sister, Debra Burns, brother, Acie Allmond.
