AZALIA
Joe R. Jines, 87, of Azalia, passed away July 27, 2021 at his home.
Joe was born April 7, 1934 in Bartholomew County, the son of Alex and Hazel Conrad Jines. He married Donna Phillips July 25, 1955.
Joe served 4 years in the Indiana National Guard and retired from Quality Mill Supply after 25 years of service. He loved buying and selling at flea markets. He eventually gained the nickname “Flea Boss”, and most people attending only knew him as such.
Joe is survived by his sons Rick (Pat) Jines of Shepherdsville, Kentucky, Larry (Brenda) Jines of Columbus, Bud Jines of Seymour, and Raymond (Tracey) Jines of Seymour; grandchildren Carisa, Tyler, Nina, Autumn, Rachel, Stephen, and Rajeana; 11 great-grandchildren; as well as Hazel Pearl of Reddington, Indiana, who was like a sister to Joe.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Donna on November 4, 2014; a daughter Candy Wheeler; as well as a brother Russell Jines.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday August 2, 2021 at Azalia Methodist Cemetery with Pastor Derek Carpenter officiating. He will be laid to rest beside his wife Donna.
Services were entrusted to the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home.
